Wildcats Shut-Out Mountaineers in Conference Double Header

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—Bay Path University hosted Southern Vermont in another New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) double header today sweeping the Mountaineers 7-0 in both games. Bay Path is now 13-11 overall and 6-2 in NECC play, Southern Vermont is now 1-23 on the season and 1-9 in conference play. Senior shortstop Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) led the way in the opener going 4-for-4 with two runs and four RBI. Both pitchers sophomore Felicia Gaillardetz (Londonderry, N.H) and junior closer Madison Goodhart (Pawtucket, R.I.) earned shut-outs today going the distance.

Vallee along with Goodhart topped the batters with Goodhart going 2-for-2 with one run. Freshman outfielder Cameille Keith (Pawtucket, R.I.) had two RBI and one hit for the opener. Vallee had two doubles and a triple.
Gaillardetz allowed only two hits while fanning 12 batters and walking three for the opener. Senior pitcher Shea Wilson (Mesa, Ariz.) suffered the loss going three innings allowing six hits on five runs. She struck out one and walked two. Sophomore Erin Girard (Savoy, Mass.) came in for relief tossing the final three innings giving up two runs on five hits.

Goodhart allowed only four hits; she fanned six batters for the shut-out. Girard suffered the loss in the second game. She gave up three runs on four hits. Relievers' freshman Kelsey Fisher (Rollinsford, N.H.)and Wilson combined for four runs , while Wilson fanned three for her four innings tossed.
Vallee and junior infielder Katrina Peck (Newington, Conn.) each tallied doubles. Peck added two runs and a RBI.
Sophomore catcher/infielder Lilly West (Goshen, Mass.) topped her team in the nightcap going 2-for-3 with one run. Freshman infielder Kayla Vance (Clifton, N.J.) had one hit and game high two RBI.
