Wildcats Land BlueJays 5-4 in Women’s Tennis

WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- Bay Path travelled to Connecticut  to take on the BlueJays of the St. Joseph  defeating them 5-4 in true down to the wire play.  This win would be their first victory on the young 2012 women's tennis campaign. Once again freshman Brittany Walsh (North Smithfield, R.I.) swept her play winning both singles and doubles for the match.

Walsh beat freshman Serena Sundara (Windsor, Conn.) 6-4, 6-0 in the No.5 singles, while partnering with sophomore Abigail Janneke (Waterbury Conn.) they won the No.3  doubles 8-3. Janneke also won both of her matches taking down junior April Loteczka (Ellington, Conn.) 6-1, 6-3 in No.6 singles.

Bay Path also won the No.1 and No. 2 singles with junior Symone Watson ( Hamden, Conn.) coming up with a big win 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) over top Blue Jay player junior Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn. ).  Sophomore No. 2 player sophomore Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) easily won 6-0, 6-2.

Bay Path is now 1-1 , while St. Joseph is 0-2 on the season. Bay Path will be back in action on Friday, September 7th facing Anna Maria in a 3:00 match.
