HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Wildcats earn their first spot in the semifinals of the 2011 NECC Women's Volleyball Championships after a huge 3-2 comeback victory over newcomer Regis College.

#3 Bay Path Advances to NECC Semifinals Defeating #6 Regis 3-2
HOLYOKE, Mass.- In true New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Volleyball Championships fashion the host #3 Bay Path College came back for a 3-2 victory over conference newcomer #6 Regis College tonight at the Bartley Center in NECC quarterfinal actions. This is the second meeting of the teams were they took the match to five with Regis winning the regular season in five. Tonight the Wildcats prevailed after staging a comeback falling in the first two sets 25-17 and 25-20 and winning the next three 25-19, 25-21 and 15-10.

Bay Path Succumbs to Southern Vermont 3-0
HOLYOKE, Mass.- Senior outside hitter Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) led the Wildcats with eight kills and eleven digs in a tough 3-0 loss to New England Collegiate (NECC) leader Southern Vermont tonight. Harkless and senior outside hitter Vanessa Chaplin (Attleboro, Mass.) were honored in their final regular season home match for their four year collegiate careers. Game scores were 25-10, 25-13 and 25-15.

Lancers Cut Wildcats Four Match Winning Streak
HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Lancers of Worcester State break up a match winning streak for the Wildcats defeating Bay Path 3-0 tonight at the Bartley Center in regional women’s volleyball action. Worcester State took all three games 25-10, 25-19 and 25-16.

Wildcats Take Two at Bard Tri-Match
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Bay Path was the only team to win both matches today in the Bard College Tri-Match. Host Bard fell 3-0 to Manhattanville College in the opening match (25-18, 25-19 and 25-18). Bay Path then took Manhattanville 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-17, 25-21), while finishing off the day shutting down Bard 3-0 (25-20, 25-18 and 25-22).

Wildcats Clip Falcons Wings in 3-0 Home Victory
HOLYOKE, Mass.— Senior middle hitter Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) and junior setter Ashley Provost (Ludlow, Mass.) led the Wildcats in a 3-0 victory tonight over the Falcons of Albertus Magnus in their first home match of the 2011 season. In NCAA DIII regional volleyball action, the Wildcats notched their first home stand win in over five years sweeping the Falcons 25-23, 25-15 and 26-24.

Bay Path Splits with Anna Maria and Castleton
PAXTON, Mass.—In a tri-match hosted by Anna Maria College Bay Path split the day narrowly falling to the host AmCats 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 14-25, 25-11 and 12-15) while sweeping the Castleton State Spartans in three easy games (25-18, 25-13, 16). Senior middle hitter Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) led the way for the day hitting .314 with 22 kills, seven blocks, six aces and five block solos.

Wildcats Claw Bluejays 3-1 in Volleyball Action
WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- Senior outside hitter Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) led the way for Bay Path hitting .308 with ten kills, 13 digs and three block solos. The Wildcats won 3-1 over the BlueJays of St. Joseph (Conn.). The Wildcats easily shut down the BlueJays in the first two games 25-18 and 25-21. St. Joe came back to take the third set in tie-break fashion 26-24 to force the fourth set. Bay Path would rally and win the match with a final game score 0f 25-21.

Wildcats Conclude Gordon Invitational Falling 0-3 for the Weekend
WENHAM, Mass.-Hosting their first tournament of the young 2011 season, the Fighting Scots completed a three-match sweep with wins over St. Joseph's (Conn.), Simmons, and Bay Path to improve to an unbeaten 4-0 overall. Bay Path fell to Simmons 3-0 and was able to take the first games of each match against NECC foe Newbury and host Gordon falling 3-1 to both schools.

Wildcats Stumble Against Simmons
The Simmons Volleyball team won three straight games to beat the Bay Path Wildcats in their 2011 season opener at the Holmes Sports Center at Simmons College on Thursday (Sept. 1) evening. The Sharks broke out early in the first game, winning it 25-16 but the Wildcats remained tough, with a second game score of 25-22 in favor of the Sharks.

Daniel Webster Picked to Win NECC Women's Volleyball Title in Preseason Poll
Daniel Webster College has been chosen the preseason favorite to win the NECC women's volleyball title in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Eagles, who return five starters from a team that went a perfect 7-0 in conference play, received four first place votes and 72 points.
