Student Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to sophomore Madison Sunderland on being selected as our Student Athlete of the Week! Madison, a key player for the Bay Path Softball team, wears #18 and serves as both a pitcher and third baseman. This past week, she demonstrated exceptional skill and talent, batting an impressive .563 with 7 RBIs and 2 home runs. Over the course of the season, Madison has accumulated 23 hits across 17 games, along with 18 RBIs. Her batting average and slugging percentage are currently ranked among the top 10 in the USCAA, showcasing her consistent offensive performance.

In addition to her facilitation at the plate, Madison's contributions as a pitcher have been equally outstanding. She earned 3 wins for the Wildcats this week, striking out 13 batters and maintaining a remarkable 2.00 ERA. As a sophomore, Madison is on the verge of a significant achievement, she is just two strikeouts away from reaching the milestone of 100 strikeouts. Accomplishing this at such an early point in her career is a testament to her consistency on the mound. We are incredibly proud of Madison for her impressive early season success and for her continued growth as an athlete.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Madison is dedicated to her studies, pursuing a degree in pre-veterinary medicine. She also gains hands-on experience by working at a doggy daycare in West Hartford, Connecticut. In her free time, Madison enjoys painting and baking, as well as trying new foods and exploring new places with her friends and family.

Madison Sunderland is a true leader, not only on the field but also off it. She leads by example, radiating positivity and encouragement to her teammates. Her commitment to excellence, both in her sport and her personal endeavors, makes her a role model for others to follow.

Congratulations once again, Madison, on being named Student Athlete of the Week. Your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing even greater things from you in the future!
