Bay Path Rally Comes Up Short in 11-8 Loss
Grove City used a seven-run third inning to build a big cushion, then held off a furious Bay Path comeback to secure an 11–8 win Monday afternoon (March 2, 2026) in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
After two scoreless innings, the Wolverines broke the game open in the top of the third. Grove City plated seven runs—despite recording only one hit in the frame—taking advantage of three Bay Path errors and a wild sequence of fielder's choices and misplays. The biggest blow was Zoey Lindner's three-run triple, which pushed the lead to 6–0 as nearly all of the damage in the inning went down as unearned.
Bay Path (0-2) answered immediately in the bottom of the third when Grace Ramsey lined a two-run single to cut it to 6–2, but Grove City kept adding on. In the fourth, Grove City scored three more runs to stretch the margin to 9–2, highlighted by an Emma Vok RBI single and continued pressure on the bases.
Bay Path wasn't finished. The Wildcats erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fourth, fueled by Madison Sunderland's three-run triple and an RBI single from Jenna Boudreau, pulling within 9–7 after being down seven earlier in the game.
Grove City regained breathing room in the fifth as Vok delivered again, ripping an RBI double to make it 10–7. Bay Path added one more in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk to Yasmine Badillo (10–8), but Grove City pitcher Ellie Day worked out of trouble and closed the door with a scoreless seventh to finish the complete-game win.
