Bay Path drops Hartwick College 5-2 in Game One
Bay Path used an early power surge and a steady complete-game performance in the circle to defeat Hartwick, 5–2, on Sunday afternoon (March 29, 2026) in Oneonta, New York.
Game recap
After a scoreless first inning, Bay Path broke through in the top of the second on the game's biggest swing. Left fielder Caroline Austin launched a three-run home run, scoring Ansley Morrison and Ariana Rivard to give the Wildcats a 3–0 lead.
Hartwick answered in the third. With runners aboard, Alicea Seitzinger lined a two-run single down the left-field line to cut the deficit to 3–2, bringing home Madi Hoerman and Jaidan Beak and briefly swinging momentum back to the Hawks.
Bay Path responded immediately in the fourth to regain breathing room. Madison Tessmer delivered a sacrifice fly to right to score Tristan Perez, pushing the lead to 4–2. The Wildcats added an insurance run in the sixth: Morrison came home on a wild pitch after Tessmer worked a walk, making it 5–2.
Hartwick threatened at times with seven hits, but Bay Path pitcher Madison Sunderland consistently limited damage after the third inning and closed out the win without allowing another run.
