Bay Path wins 9-1 over Grove City on Day 3

Bay Path broke open a scoreless game with a four-run fourth inning and piled on five more in the sixth to defeat Grove City, 9–1, on March 5, 2026 in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

After three quiet innings, Bay Path's bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth. Madison Tessmer set the table and later scored the game's first run when pitcher Jenna Boudreau lined an RBI single. Bay Path kept the inning rolling with Jackie Phillips' two-run single, then Allison Dattilo followed with a two-run base hit of her own to make it 4–0.

Grove City answered in the fifth with its lone run. Elena Tylka reached and eventually scored when Evelyn Montone ripped an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 4–1. That would be as close as the Wolverines would get, as Bay Path's pitching limited Grove City to five hits and just one walk.

Bay Path put the game away in the sixth. Caroline Austin doubled in two runs to extend the lead to 6–1, and Madison Sunderland delivered the decisive blow moments later with a three-run walk off home run, pushing the margin to 9–1.

Sunderland powered the Bay Path offense with a 3-for-4 day and three RBIs, while Austin drove in two and Phillips and Dattilo added two RBIs apiece as Bay Path finished with 10 hits. In the circle, Boudreau earned the win by allowing one run over five innings, and Kaitlyn Kerstetter worked a scoreless sixth to close it out.

For Grove City, Montone led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and the team's only RBI. Alexis Jackson took the loss, pitching 5.2 innings as Bay Path capitalized in the middle and late innings to secure the 9–1 final.
