Bay Path Sweeps Lesley with 17-8 win
Bay Path used a relentless, 17-hit attack and took full advantage of six Lesley errors to pull away for a 17–8 win Friday afternoon at Papasodora Field in Revere, Massachusetts.
Game recap
The contest was competitive early and featured multiple momentum swings before Bay Path's decisive six-run sixth inning broke it open.
Bay Path struck first in the top of the first when Madison Tessmer singled up the middle to drive in Caroline Austin for a 1–0 lead. Lesley answered immediately in the bottom half, manufacturing two runs on RBI groundouts by Eleni Vrahatis and Shae Thomas to go up 2–1.
From there, Bay Path chipped away inning by inning—tying the game in the second on another Tessmer RBI single and taking a 3–2 lead in the third on an RBI groundout from Ansley Morrison. Lesley pulled even again in the third on Jess O'Neill's RBI single (with the run scoring unearned), setting up a fourth inning that began the defensive unraveling.
In the fourth, Bay Path pushed across three runs—each unearned—sparked by a right-field error, a passed ball, and an RBI groundout from Anya Gesin, building a 6–3 cushion. Tessmer added more damage in the fifth as Bay Path stretched the lead to 7–3.
Lesley's biggest surge came in the bottom of the fifth. Leah St. John launched a two-run homer to cut the deficit to 7–5, and Lauren Martin followed with a two-run single that tied the game at 7–7 (both runs unearned), briefly flipping the momentum back to the Lynx.
Bay Path seized it right back in the sixth. Gesin's RBI double started a six-run inning, and Bay Path capitalized on multiple Lesley mistakes—including errors by the shortstop and first baseman—to turn a tie game into a 13–7 advantage. Lesley scratched one back in the bottom of the sixth on St. John's RBI double, but Bay Path responded with four more in the seventh to close the door and finish the 17–8 final.
