Bay Path loses 9-1 to St. Elizabeth University in Day 4 Action

St. Elizabeth used a decisive second inning and steady pitching from Kami DeGaetani to pull away from Bay Path, 9–1, on March 6, 2026 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Bay Path struck first in the top of the opening inning. Caroline Austin came around to score and Madison Sunderland drove in the game's first run with a single up the middle for a 1–0 lead. St. Elizabeth answered immediately in the bottom half, tying it 1–1 when Isabell Edwards scored on a wild pitch.

The game flipped in the second inning as St. Elizabeth erupted for five runs, mixing aggressive baserunning with extra-base hits. A steal of home by Rylee Sullivan put the Eagles in front, and Edwards delivered the biggest swing of the frame with a two-run double to left-center. Savannah Vanwinkle followed with an RBI triple, and Mia Testa capped the outburst with an RBI double down the right-field line to make it 6–1.

St. Elizabeth added three more in the fourth, again capitalizing on pressure and execution. Testa knocked in another run with a single, then later scored on a wild pitch. Sullivan's RBI single pushed the margin to 9–1, and DeGaetani closed out the five-inning win without allowing an earned run.

DeGaetani (3–1) went the distance, scattering six hits over five innings with two strikeouts and no walks. Bay Path managed singles from several spots in the lineup, including Madison Sunderland, Madison Tessmer,  Eli Tena, and Ansley Morrison (2-for-2), but couldn't string together rallies. Sunderland took the loss for Bay Path, allowing six runs in three innings, with Bay Path's pitchers combining for three wild pitches as St. Elizabeth's running game generated momentum.
