Bay Path Completes Sweep of VT State-Lyndon winning 12-2
Bay Path erupted for 12 runs over four innings and cruised past Northern Vermont–Lyndon, 12–2, on April 21 at South Campus, ending the game after five innings.
Bay Path (15–15) set the tone immediately in the bottom of the first. Tristan Perez ripped an RBI double to bring home Caroline Austin, and Jenna Boudreau followed with an RBI single to make it 2–0. The Wildcats kept piling on in the second, when Madison Tessmer cleared the bases with a three-run double. Northern Vermont–Lyndon miscues helped extend the inning, and Bay Path carried a 5–0 lead.
The third inning brought more pressure. Ariana Rivard lined a two-run single to score Eliana Tena and Ansley Morrison, pushing the margin to 7–0. Bay Path broke the game wide open in the fourth, highlighted by Morrison's inside-the-park grand slam—four runs on one swing that turned the contest into an 11–0 advantage. Angie Cross added an RBI double later in the inning, and Bay Path entered the fifth up 12–0.
Northern Vermont–Lyndon (2–10) avoided the shutout in the top of the fifth. With runners on, L. Gannon delivered the visitors' lone hit of the day—a two-run single that scored K. Gonzalez and Delgado-Juar. But that was all the scoring NVU-Lyndon could muster, finishing with just one hit, three walks, and leaving three on base.
In the circle, Alyssa Kreischer went the distance for Bay Path, allowing two runs on one hit across five innings while walking three and striking out one. For Northern Vermont–Lyndon, R. McNamara worked four innings, surrendering 12 runs (five earned) on eight hits with five walks and five strikeouts, as defensive errors played a major role in Bay Path's big innings.
Bay Path's offense was paced by Morrison (4 RBI), Tessmer (3 RBI), Rivard (2 RBI), and run-producing extra-base hits from Perez and Cross. The Wildcats finished with eight hits and drew five walks in front of an attendance of 65.
